This is how semifinals in the cup used to be played. This scene reminds of the movie “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” starring Clint Eastwood. Here, there are different actors. Much more dangerous.
The text in Croatian says:
The low sun in the east had already gained momentum in heating the open surfaces, although it was still morning. It’s 8:44 a.m., to be precise. The rusty clock on the bell tower, although old, is still accurate. One more minute. (In Croatia, cup matches are played in the morning at 8:45, author’s note).
They stood in the center of the town, between the church, the factory, and the sheriff’s office. The shadows were long and extended towards the northwest. Tension was growing with every second.
